| ELECTROMECH CELEBRATES 40-YEARS OF CUSTOMER SERVICE! |
Our History
Electromech Technologies, located in Wichita Kansas, specializes in the manufacture and overhaul of AC/DC motors, blowers, and actuators for the aerospace and military markets. We were founded in 1968 when seven entrepreneurs had a dream. They started the company in the back room of one of their homes. |
| It did not take long for Electromech to grow out of their humble beginnings. It was 1970 when the company moved to a larger facility and began development of its DC motor, rotary and linear actuator lines. As the company's reputation for quality work, rapid response time and problem solving abilities became known, the business world responded leading to the companies continued growth. In 1973, Electromech moved to it's current location in southwest Wichita on South Custer. Over the next ten years and through several building additions, the business prospered. |
| In the late 1980's, in response to customer inquires, a decision was made to support the after market side of the manufacturing business and ENCORE was born. ENCORE provides overhaul, repairs and spares support on most of Electromech Technologies manufactured products. In 1986, Electromech was acquired by Vickers. At the same time, Vickers also bought Welco. This was the beginning of a continued association between Electromech Technologies and Welco. |
| Both of these companies were sold to Western Sky Industries in 1996 and in 1999, we found our present home as a part of the the McKechnie Family in the McKechnie Aerospace Division. |
